Message: I am building a 2000 sq ft straw bale house with a 1000 sq ft loft.  I have in floor heating laid in the main floor and want to use solar to heat the floor.  I live in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.  I am wondering about sizing of the system for this house.

Hi Doug, Attached is a solar simulation report based on the information you sent us. We are recommending our SWH-3 complete solar kit with 2nd heat loop for boiler.( I assume LP Gas boiler) The solar heating system would contributed 18.9 % of your total energy requirements of which  38.5 % is for domestic hot water usage and 15.8% is for your building heat. Max energy savings is 1,492.3 kWh in electricity and 241.6 therms ( Converted to propane it is 265.8 gallons) Once you have had a chance to review the report  please call or e-mail me directly. Thank-you Alan Anderson
