What type  home heating system were you thinking about installing along with solar. ( Force air furnace, hydronics in either in floor or radiator type)  What is you main source of power to operate your equipment electricity, natural gas etc. How many people in the home need to determine estimated daily hot water usage. While the design of the home is still underway it seems pretty clear that it will be a one story building using floor radiant heat with 3 zones. We will use a tank less water heater large enough to carry the full load fueled by propane. There will be 3 people living in the house, me, my wife and granny. The house will have 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. Additionally, there will be a guest quarters above a detached garage. I hope this helps you with enough information to get started. Bill
